What to Do if You Think SOLD.com Is Incorrectly Claiming a Listing

At SOLD.com, we take pride in only attributing listings to agents when they stem from our referrals. However, there are rare occasions where misunderstandings or errors can occur. Below are common scenarios and steps to resolve any concerns about SOLD.com claiming a listing that isn’t ours.

Common Scenarios and How to Handle Them

1. You Believe the Client Was Not Sourced Through SOLD.com

  • If you believe the client came from another lead source or a previous relationship:
    • What We Need: Proof of where the client was sourced with a time and date stamp. This could include:
      • Lead notification from another lead source.
      • A text or email with a timestamp showing when conversations with the client began.
    • Why It’s Necessary: This helps us verify the source of the client and clear up any misunderstandings.

2. The Listing Is Within Your Brokerage but Not With You

  • If the listing is with another agent at your brokerage:
    • What We Need: Proof of how the listing agent within the brokerage sourced the client.
    • Why It’s Necessary: Unfortunately, we’ve seen instances where leads are passed to another agent within the same brokerage to avoid paying a referral fee. This proof ensures the listing is accurately attributed.

3. The Property Is Not Listed or Listed Outside Your Brokerage

  • If the property is not listed, or the listing is not with you or anyone in your brokerage:
    • What We Need: Let us know as soon as possible. If we’ve made a mistake, we’ll investigate and correct it immediately.

How to Resolve the Situation

No matter the scenario, please reach out to our team so we can review and resolve the issue. SOLD.com never wants to take credit for a listing that isn’t ours, but we may need more information to clear things up if a mistake has been made.
